Ensayo general

El escenario

Amanecer 

Amaneciendo a las ruinas

Filmando a los chavos

Hoy el diá arrancó bien tempranito. A las 5y30 se juntaron los chavos del grupo Ok-Che -pata de palo- de Yaxunah en el Centro Cultural para ir a ver el amanecer a las ruinas. Fueron caminando hasta la entrada a las ruinas, se pusieron los zancos y filmaron junto a Seba una representación en zancos del Sac-be hacia Yaxunah.

Por mi parte me reuní con las niñas que entrenan con los títeres aluxes a las 9y30 en el C.C.C y fuimos en bici hasta las ruinas junto a Manuel (el coordinador del C.C.C.), Seba y otros niños que nos quisieron acompañar. Una vez en las ruinas fuimos hacia el templo “pastel” donde, según los relatos, es donde viven los aluxes. Ahí exploramos y ensayamos un poco con los títeres mientras Seba filmaba para la recopilación de material audiovisual. Ver a las niñas interactuar con sus títeres en su entorno natural, verlas jugar y proponer una idea tras otra fué muy gratificante y divertido, lo hacían solas, naturalmente, yo solo me encargaba de alentarlas.
Luego salimos a explorar un poco mas toda la zona, pero ya sin los títeres y junto a los demás niños que corrían, desaparecían y volvían a aparecer entre los montículos, los templos y los arboles.
Desde que salimos la experiencia fué hermosa: el paseo en bici, la compañía, el paisaje, las mariposas, las nubes viajeras que nos dejaban descansar del sol, las platicas. Lo disfruté mucho realmente.

Nos volvimos a encontrar todos a las 4 pm en el C.C.C, y fuimos directo al grano: a ensayar. Nos separamos según los diferentes fragmentos de la obra. 
Como hay alerta meteorológico y todos los dias llueve por las tardes, no podemos arriesgarnos a seguir ensayando al aire libre y en un escenario que probablemente no sea donde actuarán este sábado. 
Esto generó algunos replanteos en cuanto a las puestas en escena y sobre todo en la escenografía que hasta ahora no se tenia contemplada. Pero todo se fué solucionando en el transcurso de la jornada, los títeres se amoldaron al nuevo espacio y Abraham trabajará con los niños con hojas de coco que recolectaron entre sus casas para la escenografía. En medio y al final de la jornada montamos todo lo que estuvimos ensayando por separado, dentro de la palapa. Notamos un gran avance entre el primer y segundo ensayo “general”.
Ya se ve claro el camino. 
Sin duda la ida a las ruinas nos motivo e inspiró mucho a todos.

Day 9

Today the day started very early. At 5:30am the kids from the group Ok-Che –stick leg- of Yaxunah got together in the Cultural Centre to go and watch the sunrise at the ruins. They walked up to the entrance of the ruins, put up their stilts and they film along Sebas a representation in stilts about Sac-be to Yaxunah.

I met with the girls at 9:30am at the CCC and we went by bike to the ruins along Manuel (Coordinator of the CCC) also with Sebas and other kids that wanted to come along. Once we were in the ruins we went to the temple of “Pastel,” were according to the accounts this is where the aluxes live.

There we explored and rehearse a bit with the puppets whiles Sebas was shooting and collecting images. To see the girls interact with their puppets in their natural surroundings, and see them play one idea after the other was so gratifying and fun, they were doing it alone, naturally, I was just in charge of encouraging them.

After we went to explore the area, without the puppets and with the other kids that were running around, they were appearing and disappearing between the mounds, temples and trees.

We got all toghether again at 4pm at the CCC and we went right to business: To rehearse.  We split by the different fragments of the play.

Because there is a weather warning so we can not rehearse outside because the play will take place in doors due to the weather.

This made us re-planned the show and more than anything the stage design.  Up to now we had not thought about it.  But everything started to become more clear throughout the day, the puppets got used to the new space and Abraham will work with coconut leaves that were collected by the kids and they will be used for the stage. During the middle and the end of the day we weave together what we had been rehearsing alone, inside the palapa. We saw that we advanced a lot between the first and second rehearsal.

The path is clear.

And certainly the ruins motivated and inspired all of us.
